Parker Bush

Parker leads the day-to-day work for the engine behind CoastEdge's Investment Committee which comprises of 3 core functions: research, portfolio management and investment data, analytics and technology.

As Deputy CIO he leads the investment team in shaping how the firm builds our macroeconomic views, leads the development and coaching of our alternative investment due diligence philosophies, sources investment opportunities, holds investment managers accountable, and helps curate client portfolios and the systems that support them.  Parker has contributed to much of the internal infrastructure build that makes our investment processes repeatable: standardized diligence frameworks, research workflows, portfolio management implementations, and monitoring processes.

Parker’s path to investing began in experimental economics. As an undergraduate at Chapman University, he produced research through a master’s-level course led by a Nobel laureate–affiliated research team, studying auction mechanisms and the 2008 freeze in the auction-rate securities market.  The experience was an early and formative lesson in how markets operate when structure, incentives, and investor behavior fall in and out of alignment.

Before CoastEdge, Parker was part of PIMCO's Global Credit Investment Team, responsible for portfolio management operations and tactics across fixed income, equities, currencies and derivatives. He previously worked at Merrill Lynch's Private Bank, taught advanced Macroeconomics at the high school level, and spent time abroad with the U.S. Department of State while in school.  He earned his MBA from Cornell where was a Park Leadership Fellow and his BA from Chapman University where he graduated as Valedictorian (Cheverton award winner).

Parker is the proud father of two kids, a jiu jitsu practitioner, and lifelong musician.
