Alex Ponchak

Alex serves as Chief Financial Officer of CoastEdge, where he helps ensure the accounting infrastructure behind CoastEdge’s fund platform provides investors with accuracy, transparency, and disciplined oversight.

In his day-to-day role, he leads the firm's finance and accounting function and the operational infrastructure behind its alternative investment platform. Alex brings deep experience in the alternative investment industry, specializing in fund accounting, financial reporting, audit, and tax.

Before joining CoastEdge, Alex was a Fund Controller at Soros Fund Management in New York, where he oversaw accounting and reporting for a roughly $30 billion multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund. He began his career at RSM US LLP in the financial services audit practice, serving private equity and hedge fund clients.

He earned a Master's degree (summa cum laude) and a Bachelor of Science (magna cum laude), both in Accounting, from Fordham University, and previously held a CPA license in the state of New York.

Outside the firm, Alex enjoys volunteering his time to educate on personal finance in his community, cooking for his friends and family, and with less success, supporting Tottenham Hotspur.
